“ Update: 5/18/2025 - Excellent Scotty’s Burgers and entertainment by Taylor Harvey Excellent burgers! Great atmosphere, Bar tenders, first time this band has performed here...awesome ! The Band is “Side Traxx” ”
“ Great environment to bring a long term friend, or a stranger to just chill and hear great tunes. Go Navy!!!!! ”
“ Love it! It's my choice of place for IB. They greet me! They smile at me. They joke and interact w/everyone. Variety of people, characters, personalities. Diverse in clientele. W/people of color and non. The billiards are sweet! ”
“ We had a drink here yesterday and it was nice and casual....a very laid back atmosphere. It was exactly what we were hoping for when we walked in. The bouncer was polite and friendly and the bartender was helpful. We ordered a couple of beers and went out onto their outdoor patio to enjoy the scenery. Nice place! ”
“ Didn't have any food but Damn that coors light was cold and hit the spot. Went in for lunch break and the people were friendly. ”
“ Like time travel with a barstool. Twenty-five years ago, The Plank was the spot. Sticky floors, familiar faces, a jukebox that knew what you needed before you did. It wasn’t fancy—it was real. Back then, Imperial Beach was still a little rough around the edges, a beach town with sand in its shoes and no plans to clean up anytime soon. On a recent trip back, I was braced for disappointment. After all, the town’s been buffed and polished—surf shops turned wine bars, skate rats swapped for sun-chasing transplants. But The Plank? Still standing. Still unapologetically itself. The lighting’s still dim enough to make anyone look like a legend. The beer’s cold, the regulars are lifers, and the vibe? Untouched. It’s like the bar made a pact with the universe to hold the line while everything else changed. It’s not just a bar. It’s a memory with a pulse. Cheers to The Plank—for keeping the soul of I.B. alive. ”
“ Great location! Steps away from the beach! This bar has 2 pool tables, great prices, and lots of outdoor seating. I came here with a couple of friends while we were in town for the USTA national championships. We went to the beach here and grabbed some drinks. The bartender was very nice. We signed a 1 bill and put it up above the bar with the hundreds of others. We had our drinks outside. It was a gorgeous day. Some people had their dogs and we were able to visit with them. It’s a super casual, laid back place to hang out with friends. ”
“ Great. History in this place. More authentic feeling than more famous pubs on maybe Coronado Island. Drinks good. Food good. Plus two quarter pool tables and an outside deck. ”
